Hi! I’m Juliano “Nano Gennari” de Araujo—a PhD Student at Fundação Getulio Vargas, where I harness the power of computer science, mathematical modeling and machine learning to address critical challenges in public health and epidemiology.
By training, I’m a computer scientist and airplane pilot; by passion, I’m a hacker/maker, educator, and YouTuber. Currently pursuing my PhD in Data Science and Applied Mathematics, I specialize in mathematical modeling, simulation, and machine learning—tools I use to decode complex health systems and design data-driven strategies for disease prevention and policy innovation. My academic journey includes a Master’s at Instituto de Ciências Matemáticas e de Computação,University of São Paulo, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computational Physics at the University of Brasília, which ignited my fascination with translating real-world problems into algorithmic solutions.
When I’m not immersed in research, I teach programming and machine learning to high school students through NES, a STEM initiative focused on democratizing AI and data science education. Offscreen, I channel my curiosity into DIY tech projects on my YouTube channel nanoTech, where I explore electronics, coding, and maker culture. And yes, I’ve even taken a detour through the skies—working as a flight instructor—because I’m always drawn to adventures that blend precision, creativity, and discovery.
From building epidemiological models to soldering circuits, my work is driven by a singular goal: leveraging technology to create healthier, smarter communities. Let’s collaborate and turn data into meaningful action.
